THE STORY OF IHYL

The original idea behind IHYL was created in 2013 and found itself refined in the following years. Starting out as a motivational channel for strength and endurance sports, the theme of the videos were always focused on the mental aspects beyond physical performance. The channel was called Always Massive in the beginning and evolved into an entity with over 100.000 followers within a few years.

The Beginning 2013-2018
The Rupture 2018 - 2020

From one day to the other, the channel was purged from YouTube because of a new law in europe at the end of 2018. The intention behind the original channel was still intact and the work wasn't done. A new channel emerged, called Forever Massive. It should serve as an archive for everything that was lost. This time without taking part in the YPP program and therefore free of any restrictions (at least for that time). The archive was finished and only a few new videos followed in 2019 as it felt like there was no way to go own. Meanwhile the channel's content solely focused on animated content. The reason for this was that, with fictional characters, you eradicate the failures (and scandals) of real life persons.

Restart 2020-2024

In 2020 Forever Massive - once again - became something else. With a clear course and a new focus regarding content, concept and release schedule, Gravemind was born. And for four years it existed without any downtime and a bi-weekly cylce of video releases. The only reason this had been possible was through the generous help of Patreon supporters and donations. It was intense, exhausting, draining of all energys and ultimately... worth every second, because of any comment made online that spoke of the help these videos provided. But all good things come to an end. At the end of 2024 Gravemind face another wave of restrictions from YouTube, even though it never has been a monetized channel, been part of the YPP program or violating any rights of third parties. On the opposite, third parties could run their own ads on these videos (which Gravemind has absolutely no control over) and therefore even profit from these videos. Furthermore, they were all glad for the support they could get through these videos as well.

I HOPE YOU LIVE 2024

After this incident I had to let the project rest for awhile. I had to do something else, in order to be able to come back. In fact I didn't really know if there would ever be a comeback at all. After weeks I had a look at the comments and realized what good these videos still do out there. So i thought about what I could do to make this more sustainable and if I could do it at all. I refined the concept and worked on a new video for weeks. I didn't even know if I would release it at all but ultimately felt confidently once it was ready. I HOPE YOU LIVE was born and finally ready to get out into the world. In time, it'll become Gravemind going SSJ2. With a focus on catharsis and the content of mixed media it shall serve as a beacon of light, a reminder of our inner strength, power and potential. Because from time to time... we tend to forget about that.
